About Phoenix Grounds Management

Past the last stoplight the Milton prairie opens all the way to the treeline, and the wind crosses it every afternoon, drying the cut about as fast as the mower makes it. Phoenix Grounds Management works those wide grounds — long open turf that needs a straight line held for a hundred yards at a time, the seams where pavement meets grass, trimming around signs, poles and tree rings, and a closing blow-down so the whole property reads clean from the road. Summer here is a standing appointment; between the first warm week and the first cool one the grass never truly quits. Holding a place to that standard, visit after visit, is most of the work, and it is the part everyone notices without quite knowing why.
