About GiGi & Pops Lawn Care

Before the sun clears the Mississippi levee, the St. Augustine in Meraux is still holding the night's dew, and that is the hour GiGi & Pops Lawn Care likes best. Mowing goes down in long parallel passes while the air is still bearable, a crisp edge is cut along the drive, the string trimmer takes the mailbox post and the fence corners, and every clipping gets blown back off the concrete. Down here the grass grows the way the parish weather tells it to — fast through the long wet summer, easier once the river fog starts rolling in at night — so the rotation bends to the yard instead of the calendar. What the crew is really after is the moment a homeowner turns in off St. Bernard Highway and sees that shadow line where the blade stopped and the bed began. It is small, steady work, and it makes a whole street look looked-after.
