About Jimmie Morris landscape

Come fall around Marksville the fields go to work — cane trucks on the parish roads, dust hanging gold in the low sun — and the yards in town deserve the same attention the ground outside town gets. Jimmie Morris landscape keeps them cut and shaped: mowing on a set line, edging beds and borders, trimming shrubs back into form, and hauling off leaves and cuttings so nothing sits and mats down. Avoyelles ground is generous; it will grow whatever you let it, which means the difference between a yard and a thicket is just somebody who comes back. Late in the afternoon, with the mowing finished and the walks cleared, a place looks composed, as though it had been drawn that way on purpose.
