About Bruce's Lawn Care LLC

The lake at Lake Providence is an old bend of the Mississippi that the river walked away from, and on a still evening it lies flat between the cypress like poured glass. Bruce's Lawn Care LLC works the streets set between that water and the levee, mowing on a steady weekly line, edging where turf tries to creep over concrete, running the trimmer around posts and fence corners, then sweeping the walks back to bare. Delta summer is generous to grass and unforgiving to anyone who lets it get ahead, so the schedule holds even when the air is thick enough to lean on. In the cooler months the work turns to clearing what falls — leaves, small limbs, the leftovers of a long growing season — and carrying it off. There is a plain satisfaction in pulling away from a yard that finally looks settled.
