About Property Maintenance

South toward Carlyss the land goes low and open, the lawns giving way to marsh grass and the slow water where egrets stand white against the green. Property Maintenance keeps the yards along that edge mowed, edged, and trimmed, holding a clean line between the kept ground and the wild. There is quiet worth in that boundary tended well, the drive cleared and the grass squared to it. Mist hangs over the marsh at first light, and the mower's pass cuts through the damp morning. By the time it lifts, the yard stands neat against the reeds.
