Two Men and a Mower

About Two Men and a Mower

In the neighborhoods near the university, where Bermuda grass runs thick and the summer sun comes on hard by nine, the mowers start early. Two Men and a Mower work those streets as a pair, splitting the yard between them so the lawn gets cut, trimmed, and cleaned up in one smooth pass. There is a rhythm to two people who know the work — one on the mower, one on the edges, and a tidy lawn left behind. The Lafayette growing season keeps them moving from one yard to the next nearly the whole year. Pride, for them, is a route of lawns that all look freshly done.
