Lawn Dawgs

About Lawn Dawgs

Saturday morning in a Lacombe neighborhood has a soundtrack — a screen door, a dog on a chain-link fence, and somewhere down the block a mower already going. Lawn Dawgs is often that mower, working the weekend streets with mowing, edging, string trimming and a blow-down of the walks before the truck moves on. Yards here run from the road back toward the pines, and getting the border right where lawn meets shade is what makes the whole thing look intentional. There is nothing complicated about it; it is just done well, week after week, from the first warm stretch in March until the growth finally quits in November. The route covers Lacombe and reaches into Slidell, Mandeville and Bayou Liberty.
