Alternative Services

About Alternative Services

Morning on Bayou Lacombe arrives as fog first — a low white river running above the brown one — and the grass on both banks stands heavy with it. Alternative Services starts once that lifts, mowing, edging and trimming the yards of Lacombe and carrying off what the week piled up. There is a real satisfaction in the final pass, when the stripes line up and the driveway edge reads clean as a chalk line. Under the live oaks the light falls in coins, and a freshly cut lawn holds it beautifully. The routes reach out from town toward Mandeville, Abita Springs and Slidell.
