About Anthony K.Lawn Service

Garyville sits with its back against the Mississippi levee and its face toward the cane fields, and in the early morning the river fog settles over both. Anthony K. Lawn Service starts in that grey, mowing yards along River Road and the old grid of streets below the levee, getting the cutting done before the day turns heavy. Edges are walked along the sidewalks and drives, trimming runs the porch steps and the property lines, and the cut grass is swept back off the concrete. Under the live oaks the leaf drop never entirely stops, so raking and hauling belong to the routine as much as the blade does. In a town this size a yard is seen by everyone who passes, and that is reason enough to leave it sharp.
