Martin's Clean Up Crew

About Martin's Clean Up Crew

Spring storms around here announce themselves — thunder rolling up out of the Red River bottoms, an hour of hard rain, then limbs down across half the yards in Deville. Martin's Clean Up Crew makes the rounds the morning after, dragging brush out to the road, blowing the drive clear, running the mower through grass that grew four inches while nobody was watching. Pine country keeps a yard busy; there is always something to gather. By the time the truck pulls away the concrete is swept, the edges are cut sharp against it, and the place looks like the storm went around instead of through. That reset, more than anything, is what people remember.
