About Cajun Cutters

By one in the afternoon US 80 shimmers, and the heat Claiborne shares with West Monroe sits down on every lawn like a hand. Cajun Cutters keeps moving through the worst of it — mowing, trimming the fence lines, edging the walk, then blowing the street back to clean pavement. The reward comes at the end of a pass, when a shaggy front yard turns into stripes and the shorn line along the driveway looks drawn rather than cut. Yards out here run to St. Augustine and Bermuda, thick and quick, and they answer to nothing but a steady schedule. The name has some fun in it; the cutting is the serious part.
