His Lawn Care

About His Lawn Care

Braithwaite lies on the east bank of the Mississippi below New Orleans, with the river levee rising on one side and the marsh opening wide on the other. In late fall, when Plaquemines Parish satsumas ripen orange and the light lies soft and low over the wetlands, the grass here is still growing, long after mowers up north have been put away. His Lawn Care keeps those yards in line, cutting each one evenly and trimming along the fences, ditches and drives. With the levee green behind it and the sky stretching open over the marsh, a freshly kept lawn in Braithwaite looks like it belongs to the landscape. It is careful work, fitted to a place shaped by water.
