Bates Lawn Service

About Bates Lawn Service

October reaches Blanchard on a dry north wind, and the loblollies start letting go — pine straw drifting across the red clay drives, catching in the grass along the fence lines. Bates Lawn Service works that turn of the year the way it asks to be worked: the deck raised a notch for the cooling lawn, straw and oak leaf raked out of the beds, walks blown clean until the yard reads plain and open again. Summer in Caddo Parish asks for something else entirely, weekly mowing and trimming while the heat sits heavy from morning on, and that rhythm gets kept just as faithfully. The last thing done on any property is the edge along the drive, cut straight enough that the whole yard looks deliberate. It is a small pleasure, handing a place back tidy and easy to walk out into.
