About HatcherFamily1st

Fog comes off the Atchafalaya and lies along the Berwick levee until the sun finally burns through it around nine. HatcherFamily1st starts in that soft hour, mowing while the ground is cool and the St. Augustine is still heavy with river damp. Yards on this side of the water grow fast and thick, so the trimming around posts, sheds, and slab corners matters as much as the cut itself. Edges are taken back to bare concrete, clippings blown off the drive, and the lawn left flat and even under all that wide Louisiana light. Down here where the river runs broad and the weather turns without asking, a tended yard is a small steady thing to come home to.
