Garden of Eden

About Garden of Eden

In late winter the citrus in Plaquemines Parish hangs heavy on the branch, and by spring the blossoms have all of Belle Chasse smelling sweet for a few short weeks. Garden of Eden works through that season and every other, mowing lawns, shaping hedges and shrubs, cutting bed edges back to a clean curve. The trimmer goes around tree rings and along foundations where a mower deck cannot follow, and the yard waste leaves with the truck. Ground here sits low between levee and wetland — soft underfoot, quick to grow — and it asks to be tended rather than conquered. Done right, the place looks cared for even on the days nobody is there.
