About Angie

In March, the dogwoods open white along the edges of the piney woods around Angie, a small Washington Parish village just below the Mississippi line. It is the stretch of spring when lawns wake up, the first real growth pushing through after winter, and a lawn can go from brown to shaggy in a couple of warm weeks. Angie, the lawn care business that shares its name with the village, mows that first flush of grass down to an even cut and trims around mailboxes, fence posts and garden beds. A yard that looks ready for the season before the azaleas have finished blooming carries its own kind of gladness. Out here, where the roads run quiet and the woods stand close, a neat lawn makes a bright little greeting to anyone passing by.
