Pristine Home & Lawn

About Pristine Home & Lawn

Late August in Amite City, the longleaf pines drop straw all day and the air does not cool until well after supper. Pristine Home & Lawn takes the evening end of that — mowing in the softening light, trimming close where the turf runs up against a porch step or a pine trunk, then blowing the walks clean so nothing crunches underfoot. Grass this far north of Lake Pontchartrain will grow right through the hottest stretch of the year if it gets rain, and it usually does, which means steady cutting is what keeps a place looking kept rather than merely cut back. The pleasure of the job is in the finish: a straight edge, a level cut, a drive with nothing scattered across it. A yard handled that way looks good from the road at dusk, and better still from the porch.
