Skip's Lawn Services

About Skip's Lawn Services

The first warm week of February and it begins — St. Augustine loosening its color, a green haze rising over the yards on Abbeville's north side, the year's first mowing finally on the calendar. Skip's Lawn Services makes those early rounds: taking the winter growth down, cutting back the walk edges the cool months blurred, trimming out the corners, sweeping it all clear. From there the schedule runs nearly unbroken, because a lawn in Vermilion Parish gets a short rest and not one day more. There is something good about that first cut of the year — the smell of it, the sharp new border along the drive. Everything after is just keeping that promise, week by week.
