About Lewis' Lawn Care

Before sunrise on Highway 14 the cane trucks are already moving, headlights strung out toward town, and the fields hold a low mist that will burn off by eight. Lewis' Lawn Care drops the trailer ramp about then, while the dew is still down and the day has not turned mean yet. Mowing, edging, trimming around trees and posts, blow-down of drives and walks — the route worked in order, yard by yard, one road at a time. Starting early is how a person beats a Louisiana afternoon, and it means the grass gets cut while it still stands up straight. By lunch there is a whole string of finished yards behind the truck.
