About Whitley Gardens

First light in Whitley County finds every lawn in Williamsburg silvered with dew, and about the time it burns off, the mowers start. Whitley Gardens tends the growing parts of a property: grass cut and edged, borders drawn, beds weeded and mulched, shrubs and hedges trimmed to hold their shape. The planting beds along a foundation get the attention that makes a yard look intended rather than accidental. In autumn the leaves are cleared and the beds are cut back and tucked in for the cold. A yard here is a small country carved out of hill and river bottom, and it repays the tending.
