Simpson Services

About Simpson Services

West of town the road runs out toward Big Sink, where the land dips and takes its water underground, and the fog settles into those hollows until the sun gets high enough to burn it off. Simpson Services works those mornings, mowing while the grass still holds the night's damp and the plank fences come out of the mist one panel at a time. Edging follows the drive and the walk, a clean line drawn against the limestone gravel. Trimming closes out the corners a mower can't reach — post bases, the mailbox, the shady side of the maple. By mid-morning the yard is standing up straight and squared away, and the day over Woodford County has opened all the way up.
