Nevitt Clear Cuts

About Nevitt Clear Cuts

By late November the sun crosses low across Spencer County all day, and every mowed edge throws a long shadow you can see from the road. Nevitt Clear Cuts likes that light, because it shows the work: where a border was cut true, where a fence line was taken back, where a lot that had gone to weeds got returned to plain open ground. Overgrown corners are a specialty of temperament here — knock it down, clear it out, then keep it on a schedule so it never gets that far again. Between the last mow and the first thaw, cleanup work carries the season: brush pulled off the treeline, leaves hauled, yards left uncluttered. When spring comes back to the creek bottoms, the ground is ready instead of buried.
