Albertsen Lawn Care

About Albertsen Lawn Care

The first cut of the year comes on some warm Tuesday in March, when the fescue has gone electric at the edges and the fencerows are still bare enough to see clear through. Albertsen Lawn Care opens the season on that ground, taking the winter-matted yards down to something bright and even again. Spencer County rolls, so a mowing pass is never quite straight — it follows the shoulder of a hill, then swings around the low wet place where the ground stays soft into April. Trimmed close to the mailbox post, edged along the drive, the clippings blown off the concrete: a yard done properly announces spring better than a calendar does. From there it's a rhythm all the way through the growing months, one week to the next, the lawn never getting away from anybody.
