About Blue Heron Landscaping

Strunk sits high on the McCreary County plateau, where laurel crowds the hollows and the Big South Fork has cut its gorge into the sandstone just west of town. Blue Heron Landscaping works this pine-and-hardwood country — mowing the yards carved out between the timber, trimming back the edges where the woods try to return, edging drives, and setting mulch beds around the house. Summer stays a little kinder up on the ridge than down in the river bottoms, though the growth is relentless once the rain starts. Mountain properties come with slope, roots and shade, and all three change how a lawn should be cut. A clean, held border between kept ground and forest is the most satisfying line there is to draw out here.
