Randman Mowing

About Randman Mowing

The first cut of the year in Washington County comes when the limestone pastures around Springfield turn from brown to a green so sudden it feels like a decision somebody made overnight. Randman Mowing is out in it early — mowing, trimming, edging, and the steady weekly return that keeps a lawn from ever getting ahead of anyone. The land here rolls toward the Beech Fork in long easy folds, and the yards follow the same grade, which is its own argument for someone who knows how to read a slope with a deck on it. Come evening the light lies flat across the fields toward the Lincoln Homestead country, and a freshly mown yard picks it up like water. That look is the reason to keep the blades sharp.
