About Mow 'n' Go; Somerset, Ky

Ferguson was laid out around the railroad shops, and it still shows in the yards — small, square, close together, one running right into the next. Mow 'n' Go treats a late-spring Saturday there like a route rather than a series of stops: unload, mow, trim, edge, blow the walk, load, and the mower is running two houses down before the clippings have settled. Somerset and the little towns around it reward that pace, because a lawn kept on a rhythm never gets away from you the way one cut whenever it looks bad does. The work is plain and the result is plain too: a clean cut, sharp lines at the concrete, nothing left scattered on the drive. By supper the whole street looks like somebody paid attention to it.
