About Bluegrass Services

April rain in Pruden comes down off the mountains in long gray curtains, filling the creeks until they run loud and brown. When it clears, the grass seems to have doubled overnight, and Bluegrass Services is there to bring it back to order. The work is straightforward and satisfying: mowing the soft spring growth before it mats down, trimming the banks and borders, and picking the scattered twigs out of the lawn. A business named for Kentucky's signature grass takes the green stuff seriously, even in a mountain valley far from the thoroughbred pastures. After a wet week, a just-mown lawn with the creek still singing behind it is about as good as spring gets in Pruden.
