Come the last half of October, Pond Creek gives up its leaves all at once — hickory yellow, maple red, oak hanging on longest — and they end up banked against every porch, fence and foundation in town. Edwards Lawncare spends those short afternoons moving all of it: blowing yards out from the house toward open ground, working the beds and the fence corners by hand, and hauling the piles off so nothing sits and mats over the winter. Between rounds the mower keeps going at a lower height, because grass still grows while the woodsmoke starts drifting in the evenings. Gutter-line beds get cleared and the walks get blown clean before dark. A yard that goes into the cold months bare and tidy comes out of them a lot faster.
