Arn Mowing and Landscaping

About Arn Mowing and Landscaping

Morning arrives late in Pineville — the mountain holds the sun up on its ridge a while before letting it down into the valley, and by then the mowers are already running. Arn Mowing and Landscaping works the yards under Chained Rock, where a lawn runs level for a stride or two and then tilts uphill, the way most everything here does. That means mowing on ground that never quite agrees to be flat, trimming and edging along drives and walks, landscaping beds shaped to the slope instead of against it, and cleanups when the leaves come down off the hillside all at once. There is a particular satisfaction in the last pass of the day, when the stripes line up and the edge beside the sidewalk reads clean as a pencil line. Come May, when the mountain laurel opens along the ridges above Bell County, a kept yard down in town looks like it belongs to the hillside standing over it. That is the whole aim.
