Xavier's Lawn Care

About Xavier's Lawn Care

Late in a Daviess County afternoon the sky west of Owensboro starts building, thunderheads stacking over flat farm ground, and anybody with a mower still running knows the clock just started. Xavier's Lawn Care works that window. Cut it clean, edge the sidewalk, run the trimmer down the property line, blow the drive, move on before the first fat drops land. Out past Panther Creek Park the grass comes roaring back after a western Kentucky rain, thick and green again within days — which is fine, because the route comes back too. A lawn finished just ahead of the weather is one of the better small pleasures of summer here: everything dark and sharp-edged, the storm arriving to a yard that is already done.
