About Owensboro Mowing Company

Storms come up the Ohio Valley out of the southwest in April, and after two days of rain everything in Daviess County grows at the same time. Owensboro Mowing Company meets that week head on: cutting on a tight rotation, trimming out the wet corners, sharpening back the lines that spring push has blurred, clearing walks and drives before the truck moves. Transition-zone grass here can go from thin to shin-deep in a hurry, and catching it on time is most of the job. Later in the year the pace eases, the deck comes up a notch, and the same yards hold their color through the humid stretch. Every route in the book runs within sight of the river bend.
