Orcutt's Tree Services

About Orcutt's Tree Services

Autumn comes down hard and bright in Carter County, and the ridges above Olive Hill turn gold from the top of the slope to the creek bottom in about ten days. Orcutt's Tree Services works that steep, rocky ground — hillside tree removal where there is no straight pull, tree trimming along a driveway cut into the grade, pruning that keeps a yard tree from throwing all its weight downhill. The sandstone country around Tygart Creek grows tall timber in thin soil, which is a fine arrangement right up until a wind finds it. Storm damage cleanup afterward means the tops off the roof and the road, wood cut to length, and brush hauled out rather than shoved over the bank. What you get back is a place that opens again to the light and the long view down the hollow.
