About Big Daddy’s Garage

Late July along KY-44, the heat stays in the asphalt long after the sun has dropped behind the treeline, and that is when Big Daddy's Garage finishes its last Mount Washington yard of the day. Mowing, string trimming, edging down the drive, a clean blow-down of the sidewalk — the same list, done the same way, on lawns all over this end of Bullitt County. Kentucky summers push fescue hard, so the deck rides high and the lines stay honest. There is a particular satisfaction in stepping back at dusk and seeing a whole lot squared up, the grass standing exactly where it should. The cicadas take the evening from there; the yard is done.
