About small town landscaping

September evenings in Mount Sterling come with the porch lights going on one at a time down a block, and a lawn cut that afternoon still smelling green under the streetlight. small town landscaping works those neighborhood streets — mowing, trimming close along fences and steps, edging the walks, and clearing the yard of what the season sheds. The scale suits the town: a handful of yards a day, the same houses week after week, the kind of work where you learn which corner of which lot stays wet after a rain. Montgomery County's hills mean few properties are truly flat, and getting an even cut on a slope is a skill worth taking pride in. What comes out of it is simple and worth having — tidy front yards on an ordinary street, looking cared for.
