Thompson's Landscaping & Mowing

About Thompson's Landscaping & Mowing

March in the Highlands is a rumor before it is a season: a warm week around the Douglass Loop, daffodils up in the yards off Bardstown Road, winter's grit still lodged in every bed. Thompson's Landscaping & Mowing opens the year there — raking out the flattened leaf mat, cutting the beds back to a fresh line, laying mulch dark enough to make the whole front of the house look new. The first mowing comes right behind it, once the grass has enough length to cut without scalping, and after that the route settles into its weekly rhythm. Trimming and edging go with every visit, and the sidewalks get blown so nothing tracks up the porch steps. Starting a lawn off clean in spring is half of how it looks in July.
