Green & Grow

About Green & Grow

A Sunday in May near Woodland Park sounds like mowers three streets over and somebody's screen door, the whole Kenwick side of town out in its yards. Green & Grow works with that neighborhood grain — narrow lots, mature shade, and old sidewalks that need an edge cut back into them every few weeks. Mow, edge, trim, clear the walk; then feed the turf and treat the weeds so the grass itself does most of the crowding-out. Kentucky springs are generous and short, so the pace gets set early and held right through the humid stretch. Green grass and a straight edge in front of an old Lexington house is a picture worth keeping up.
