About Burkhardts Landscaping

Gratz Park keeps its brick sidewalks uneven and its shade deep, and in September the light comes sideways through the old trees onto lawns that have been mowed for a very long time. Burkhardts Landscaping works those close, in-town yards where a mower has to be steered rather than simply driven — around iron fence posts, stepping stones, and roots that surface like knuckles. Cutting, edging along brick and curb, hand-trimming the tight corners, then clearing every clipping off the walk so the block looks untouched. When leaf-fall starts it becomes rakes, blowers and hauling, week after week, until the yards are bare and clean again. Small lawns done right have their own kind of dignity, and that is the work.
