Grassy Lawns

About Grassy Lawns

Keene sits out in the open Jessamine County country where limestone runs close under the sod and black plank fence lines climb one rise after another toward the palisades of the Kentucky River. Grass is the whole language of a place like this, and Grassy Lawns treats it that way — mowing at a height that keeps a bluegrass yard dense and green through a hot June, trimming clean along fence posts and stone, edging the walk until the line between lawn and pavement is unmistakable. On a still afternoon here you can hear the mower a half mile off, and then the quiet afterward, which is the better part. Spring and fall we clear the beds and haul off the leaves so the turf goes into the next stretch of weather with nothing smothering it. Keene, Nicholasville, Wilmore — same care, yard to yard.
