About Piersons Southern Turf Management

Henderson sits on the seam of the country where cool-season grass and warm-season grass both want the same ground, and neither one has it easy. That is what turf work means here — feeding a fescue lawn so it can hold through a humid western Kentucky August, opening up compacted river-bottom clay with a core aerator, overseeding the thin spots in the cool of September. Weeds get handled before they set seed rather than after they have taken the yard. The payoff comes on a still evening when the mower passes lie over dense, even color from the sidewalk clear to the back fence. A stand of turf that thick did not happen by luck; it was built, one season's work at a time.
