Hastings Mowing

About Hastings Mowing

Royal Spring runs cold under downtown Georgetown, and it is the reason the town sits where it sits. Hastings Mowing works the early hours, when the air off the spring is still gray-blue and every blade of grass holds a bead of dew. Mowing, edging and trimming make up the whole of the day, done in the order that leaves a lawn looking combed rather than merely cut. There is a particular pleasure in the line where turf meets sidewalk — straight, deep, unmistakable from the street. By the time Main Street fills up, the work is behind them, and the yards along the block look like they were always meant to look that way.
