Grass Monkeys

About Grass Monkeys

July in the Bluegrass is cicadas, heat shimmer coming off the blacktop, and grass that gains an inch while you blink. Grass Monkeys meets Georgetown lawns in the thick of it — mowing on a steady rhythm, alternating direction so the turf stands up instead of laying over, trimming everything the deck cannot reach. There is honest pleasure in the striping that comes up behind a good pass, light and dark down the length of a yard. Walks and drives get blown clean before the trailer gate goes back up. Hot months, fast grass, even cut: that is the arrangement.
