Penn’s Mowing Service

About Penn’s Mowing Service

Dawn in the Cove Spring hollow arrives with mist standing over the old reservoir and a whole ravine's worth of birdsong coming down the slope. Penn's Mowing Service is out in it early, boots gone dark with dew, starting on the yards while the air is still cool enough to work hard in. Mowing first, then trimming around the beds and the base of the trees, then everything blown back off the concrete. Grass cut at that hour lies down damp and rises through the morning into something crisp and level. By the time the rest of Frankfort is pouring a second cup of coffee, the yard is already done and the truck is two streets over.
