About 5c Contracting

Morning in Carlisle comes up over the courthouse square and slides down the Nicholas County ridgelines, and by then the mower is already off the trailer. 5c Contracting keeps grass cut and edged across the shaded side streets in town and the farm lots out toward the Licking River bottoms. There is a particular satisfaction in the last pass along a walk, when the trimmer snaps the grass into one straight seam and the whole yard suddenly reads as tended. Grass on this limestone ground grows willingly after a warm rain, so the route bends to the weather instead of the calendar. Come fall the maples on the older blocks let go all at once, and the work turns to clearing the leaves off before they mat down. Plain outdoor work, and the result stays visible from the road.
