Adkins Mowing

About Adkins Mowing

Silver Creek runs low and green through the bottomland north of Berea, and the grass along it holds dew until the sun clears the treeline. Adkins Mowing starts in that first hour, when the blades are still wet enough to lay down clean and the air hasn't turned heavy yet. Mowing, string trimming and edging make up the rounds, repeated week after week through a Madison County summer that grows fescue faster than anyone expects. The reward is the walk back to the truck: rows lying straight across a yard, the edge along the drive cut sharp as a pencil line, clippings blown off the concrete. In a town where the Bluegrass gives way to the foothills, a kept lawn is its own small announcement.
