Hawkeye Lawn & Landscape

About Hawkeye Lawn & Landscape

Mornings in Knox County start under a lid of fog that fills the hollows and then lifts off the ridges by mid-morning, one bench of the mountain at a time. Hawkeye Lawn & Landscape works out of Barbourville into those creek valleys and benches, where a lawn might be terraced, sloped, or wedged between a hillside and a road. Cutting on that ground is a matter of lines that make sense — mowing with the contour, trimming the banks, edging where gravel gives way to grass. The clippings come off the drive and the walk before the truck moves on to the next stop. When the fog goes and the sun hits a fresh-cut slope, it is plain what a couple of hours can do to a place.
