Lechner's Landscape & Lawn Services

About Lechner's Landscape & Lawn Services

North Wichita, out past the zoo, carries a different feel in winter — more trees, more curve to the streets, and enough open ground nearby that snow tends to sit a little deeper than it does downtown. Lechner's Landscape & Lawn Services works that side of the city, clearing driveways and walks in the neighborhoods that back up toward the zoo grounds, where a heavy snow can make a familiar street look unrecognizable overnight. The work moves steadily: one driveway, then the next, blade down until the pavement shows through, walks cleared wide enough for a stroller or a delivery cart. There's something close to peaceful about the far end of a route on a morning like that — the animals still quiet behind their fences, the streets empty except for the plow. By the time the neighborhood is up and moving, the hard part of the morning is already finished.
