About Countryside Motors Off Road & Mowers & NEWCO Inc./ARTT Appliances

Trucks are loading while US-81 is still mostly headlights, that hour when the prairie air off the Sumner County flats is cool enough to be worth using. Countryside Motors Off Road & Mowers & NEWCO Inc./ARTT Appliances runs its lawn work out of Wellington, taking the mowing, the trimming, the edge along the driveway and the yard cleanup that follows a windy week. Wellington's grid of shade streets gives way to open section-line road within a mile in any direction, so a route out here means gravel dust as often as curb-and-gutter. Machines are the language of this place — something is always being started, sharpened, or brought back to running — and a deck set right leaves a cut you can read from the porch. By mid-morning the south wind is up, the grass smells green, and another block of Wellington looks tended.
