Some of the older yards around Spring Hill sit under bur oaks and cottonwoods wide enough to shade a whole front lawn, and grass in that dappled light is a different animal — thinner, slower, quick to bruise. Tidd Tree mows those lawns with that in mind, running a little higher beneath the canopy, easing the deck around trunks and surface roots, trimming the tree rings close by hand. Edges go in crisp along walks and drives, and each visit finishes with the clippings gathered off the concrete. Autumn under those big crowns is a serious amount of leaf, and the cleanups keep going until the turf is showing again. Shade and grass can share a yard; it just takes a lighter touch.
