Sallee Lawn Care

About Sallee Lawn Care

Out past the grain elevators, wind is the loudest thing in South Hutchinson, and it comes across the wheat ground all afternoon without asking permission. Sallee Lawn Care takes the late hours, mowing while shadows stretch long over salt country and the thunderheads pile up somewhere west of Nickerson. Edging a sidewalk, trimming tight to fence posts and mailboxes, hauling the clippings off — small things, squared up, that add to a yard a person is glad to pull into. Summers run hot and dry on this flat, and grass tells on anyone who rushes it, so the mowing keeps a rhythm the season can actually live with. Come autumn the leaf work starts, and the route runs on through Hutchinson, Willowbrook, Yoder and Pretty Prairie until the light gives out.
