Bretton’s Lawn Inc

About Bretton’s Lawn Inc

West of K-7 the streets off Monticello Road still remember being farm ground, and on October mornings the fog settles into the low spots until the sun burns it off the fence lines. Bretton's Lawn Inc starts in that gray hour, when the grass is wet and the town is quiet enough to hear a mower running two blocks over. Regular mowing, trimming around posts and beds, edging, and clearing the leaves that Shawnee's oaks decide to let go all at once. A Kansas autumn does not ease into anything — it simply arrives, and the work has to keep pace with it. A yard raked clean by noon, still carrying the smell of the cut, makes the early start worth it.
